What if the username is invalid?

Fix spelling and formatting. Usernames can’t start/end with a dot or include consecutive dots.

Where do I find the exact username?

It is the last segment of a profile URL: in instagram.com/natgeo the username is natgeo. It also appears at the top of the profile screen in the Instagram app.

Do I include the @ symbol?

No. Type natgeo, not @natgeo. The viewer validates against Instagram's format rules of 1–30 characters using letters, numbers, periods and underscores.

What if two accounts have similar names?

Usernames are unique on Instagram, so the exact handle resolves to exactly one account. Display names are not unique, which is why the viewer looks up handles rather than names.

How many posts will I see?
